Cutting Corrugated Just Got Easier
Valley Container: 33x47 Crest Clamshell
Problem
Valley Container in Bridgeport, CT cuts some very tough, thick corrugated on their Thomson press. After 40 years of wear, Valley Container's Thomson presses required a lot of maintenance, had developed low or uneven spots on the platen, and had acquired so many different guard changes through the years to meet constantly improving safety standards that the press was an eye sore.
Solution
In 2003 when Valley Container need a new press, they considered both a new Thomson and the heavy-duty Crest 33x47 with 150 working tons to replace their worn 100-ton Thomson. Robert Niedermeier, Plant Manager of Valley Container, selected the Weidhaas Crest Clamshell because he knew the Weidhaas Group's ability to provide quality service based on service and support that dates back to Bob Weidhaas' company, IT&M. In addition to better support, the higher tonnage Crest was less expensive than a new 100-ton Thomson.
Results
Valley Container now cuts their challenging corrugated jobs with ease on a Crest Clamshell 33x47 with the peace of mind that if they ever have a question, the Weidhaas Group is only a phone call away. |
