Die Cutting - Weidhaas Clamshell Evolution
The Weidhaases manufactured their first clamshell in the United States in 1986 commonly referred to as the IT&M. Our customers often compared the IT&M to the traditional workhorse clamshell presses. In 1996, IT&M merged with Preco, and the Weidhaases engineered the Preco M3043. When Preco changed its focus, the Weidhaases decided to again produce their own presses and support Preco clamshell users through a service alliance with Preco.
The Weidhaases introduced the Crest in 2000, once again responding to the need for increased tonnage and precision. Building on their many years of clamshell engineering, the Weidhaases built a press that surpassed both the Preco and the traditional Thomson. (To learn more about our company history, click here.)
