Foil Stamping - For years customers asked for an affordable, large automatic press, and our competitors responded that a 14” x 22” and 17” x 25” was big enough. Weidhaas listened to our customers' needs and developed the AutoClam, an extremely compact press, requiring minimal floor space while increasing customers' sheet size capabilities.

AutoClam customers can now run yesterday's letterpress sheet sizes and today's offset and digital sheet sizes, including 8 ½” x 11", 11” x 17”, 14” x 22”, 17” x 25”, 20” x 26”, 20” x 28”, etc. The AutoClam is considered a half-sheet press because it can run up to a 21.5” x 32” sheet, which allows our customers to produce three-fold pocket folders or run smaller jobs two up for twice the production.

The standard features on the AutoClam include a multi-zone heater, removable PMC base (honeycomb plate), programmable foil puller and all of the other necessary tools to foil stamp, die cut or emboss. In addition, Weidhaas includes advanced features such as infinite micrometer platen adjustment to extend die life and control the depth of cut, powerful flywheels for high-tonnage jobs, and a foil puller that helps you conserve foil.

AutoClam customers tell us they bought the press for the following reasons:

•  Big Sheet Size in a Small Package: Customer surveys revealed that AutoClam owners purchased this press to enter the half-sheet (20”x28”) market and to produce three-pocket folders. Many of our customers wanted to increase their sheet size, but lacked the space for the half-sheet presses built by our competitors. The AutoClam is a compact press for small spaces.

•  Tonnage: The platen and the main frame are designed to deliver 100 tons, while the powertrain provides 80 working tons at all operating speeds.
